Capulet Art & Framing Inc. is not your average art gallery in Vancouver. Located in Richmond, just minutes from the city core, we are a creative hub offering more than just exhibitions. We specialize in original Canadian artwork, custom picture framing, corporate art rentals, and live art events that bring people together.
Founded in 2006, Capulet Art is built on a foundation of storytelling — not just through art, but through every frame, rental, and event we design. Our mission? To make art more accessible, meaningful, and alive in everyday spaces — whether it’s your home, office, or gallery wall.
A Gallery Born From a Bus Stop Encounter
Our story begins with a chance meeting that changed everything.
In the winter of 2006, Kevan Seng, then 24, met legendary Vancouver artist Raymond Chow at a snowy Richmond bus stop. That brief interaction led to a gallery visit, a friendship, and eventually a collaboration that became the first Chinatown Calendar — a project celebrating Raymond’s historical sketches of Vancouver.
This was Kevan’s entry into the world of art and publishing — and it lit a fire that would grow into Capulet Art & Framing.
From a Calendar to a Cultural Movement
What started with a calendar soon grew into live art shows, artist representation, and framing for collectors and institutions. In 2008, Kevan launched his first live painting event at Chapters bookstore. It drew a crowd and ignited a new idea: turn art into a spectator experience.
By 2011, Battle of the Brush was born — Vancouver’s first and longest-running team-based live painting competition. With over 400 participating artists to date and shows expanding to China and the Philippines, the event continues to redefine how people experience art in real time.

Raymond Chow’s legacy runs deep. Known for his exquisite black ink drawings of Vancouver’s architecture and cultural landmarks, Raymond has been a major influence in Canadian art since the 1950s. His work has been collected by celebrities, heads of state, and institutions alike — from Clint Eastwood and Indira Gandhi to the Royal Palace of India.
His partnership with Capulet continues to inspire new generations of artists, and his mentorship remains at the heart of everything we do.
