ELECTRIC WILD – Art Exhibition & Live Artist Interview with Taka Sudo

📍 Capulet Art Gallery, Richmond, BC
🗓 Opens: Saturday, May 24, 2025 | Closes: Saturday, June 21, 2025
🎤 Live Interview & Opening Reception: Saturday, May 24 | 2:00–5:00 PM
Interview begins at 3:00 PM

Capulet Art Gallery proudly presents Electric Wild, a bold new solo exhibition by Japanese-Canadian street-pop artist Taka Sudo. Running from May 24 to June 21, 2025, the exhibition transforms the gallery into an electrified realm of instinct, identity, and modern chaos — with animals, symbols, and urban textures colliding in technicolor form.

What sets this exhibition apart is its live artist interview and opening reception on Saturday, May 24. At 3:00 PM, Sigrid Gong, art advisor and founder of SLG Design Agency, will host a talk-show-style conversation with Taka Sudo, diving into the artist’s influences, symbolism, process, and personal philosophy. The interview will be filmed in front of a live audience.

“Electric Wild captures the pulse of modern life — the rawness of nature and the overload of media culture,” says Sudo. “It’s about holding both instinct and information at once.”

From electrified ravens and neon skulls to graffiti-layered owls and symbolic beasts, Sudo’s works are both visually explosive and deeply intentional. Influenced by Tokyo’s street art, Vancouver’s creative energy, and modern signage, his pieces reflect the fragmentation and vibrancy of urban identity.

UNSETTLED: INK & WOOD – The Art of Jordan Turner

📍 Capulet Art Gallery, Richmond, BC
🗓 April 5 – May 24, 2025
🍸 Opening Reception | 🎤 Live Artist Interview | 🎨 Interactive Art Experience

Capulet Art Gallery proudly presents Unsettled Ink & Wood, a striking solo exhibition by Vancouver-based artist Jordan Turner. This multidisciplinary showcase, running from April 5 to May 24, 2025, explores the complex intersection of tattoo culture, handcrafted woodwork, and fine art painting.

Turner’s work bridges tradition and rebellion, permanence and change. At the center of the exhibition stands a hand-built canoe—an emblem of craftsmanship and identity—surrounded by tattoo-inspired works on wood and canvas, and his bold Junk Power series that reflects industrial energy and urban decay. The show engages with themes of memory, displacement, and the imprint of time.

👤 ABOUT THE ARTIST

Jordan Turner is a tattoo artist, painter, sculptor, and educator whose work spans disciplines and traditions. Whether tattooing skin, carving wood, or painting social narratives, Turner’s practice reflects a deep commitment to storytelling, technique, and visual history.

“A tattoo, a carving, a painting — they all tell a story. Each mark carries meaning, whether on a body or in a gallery.” – Jordan Turner
